The Main Gate's Goal   Let's face it, The Main Gate is not your average web site. It's a pretty unique idea, and some people have a hard time grasping the concept behind it. Even worse, many people don't even know what the concept is, and so they have no idea what this site is all about. This page has been added to help clear up the apparent mystery. The Main Gate's goal can be broken up into three basic elements.           1. Make More Mega Man Legends Sites     Wouldn't it be cool if more people out there would create Mega Man Legends sites? Of course, the answer is a major yes! The Internet is lacking so greatly in Legends material, it's disheartening. Once upon a time there was a site named Dash!, but it closed down, and shortly after, Mega Man Legends Station came into being. Sad but true, these seem to be the only serious attempts anyone has made at creating MM Legends sites. The need and desire for more Legends sites was the initial spark which brought to mind the concept behind The Main Gate.           2. Something Different, Something New     For anyone looking to make an all-out super site for Mega Man, a quick look at sites like Planet Mega Man and Mega Man Network will probably put a major question in their heads: Why bother? Very few people have the time, energy, and resources to try and rival these two giants. Likewise in the land of Legends, there is very little anyone could create in a Legends super site that Mega Man Legends Station doesn't already have. Rather than asking the "Why bother?", The Main Gate is looking to make more Legends sites in innovative ways. The goal is to make those sites unique. They need to give something different to the community, bring forth a new way to appreciate the series, or a particular aspect of the series. This train of though has brought together a Bonne character shrine with emphasis on fan interaction, a 3D web comic, a choose your own adventure story taking place in the world of Legends, and a major 3D fan game project currently in development, plus more to come!           3. The Talents Of Others     Being the webmaster of Mega Man Legends Station puts me in a somewhat odd situation here at The Main Gate. Not only do I already have a web site to run, but I already have a Legends web site to run. As webmaster of MMLS, I do just about everything by myself, but I received many offers to help, leading me into the (false?) belief that there are many Legends fans out there who would like to be a part of a Legends web site if given the opportunity. The Main Gate is that opportunity. To thrive, The Main Gate needs the hard work and dedication of others, as well as their ideas for branching in new directions. Even those with no web experience can get involved if dedicated enough, and their innovative site ideas can gain instant exposure through The Main Gate and its connection with Mega Man Legends Station.           These three elements combine, and there you have it, The Main Gate.
